A new study suggests that time in front of the television may be partially to blame for weight gain, high blood pressure, and heart disease risk. The researchers then examined the two groups for symptoms of metabolic syndrome. FYI Living reports: “The results showed that an increase in TV-watching does have an unhealthy effect. For both men and women, people who increased their TV viewing similarly increased their waistlines. Meanwhile, women who watched…

A study links thyroid disease with human exposure to perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA). PFOA is a persistent organic chemical used in industrial and consumer goods including most nonstick cookware and stain- and water-resistant coatings for carpets and fabrics. The study included nearly 4000 adults aged 20 and older whose blood serum was sampled between 1999 and 2006 for PFOA. The researchers found that the individuals with the highest PFOA concentrations were more than twice as likely to report current thyroid disease. Previous animal studies carried out by other scientists have shown that the compounds can affect the function of the mammalian…

By Dr. Mercola For thousands of years, Eastern civilizations have used forms of energy medicine to unblock and regulate energy channels in the body. For example, acupuncture has a long history of success in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The West has been slow to embrace energy medicine, holding a more biochemical view of the human body, as opposed to “the body electric.” Hold a stethoscope to your body and you’ll hear a lot of electrical chatter. Your nervous system communicates using electricity (i.e., movement of electrons), receiving and transmitting electrical signals throughout your body. Most of your biological processes are electrical.…

In this interview, Frank Llosa, founder and CEO of KetoneAid Inc., and I discuss the pros and cons of exogenous ketones (supplemental ketones). Your body makes ketones under certain conditions (so-called endogenous ketones), but you can also take them orally. I used to take ketones, but over the past year or so have changed my position on this. I now believe that it’s relatively unhealthy for your body to create ketones on a chronic basis. Not that you should never do it, but it’s an emergency mechanism that requires the activation of stress hormones. There’s great value to that, and…

Immune system weakening has long been attributed to aging and poor lifestyle choices, but according to an October 2023 study1 in Nature Communications, the key reason for this immune system decline is dysfunctional mitochondria, your cells’ powerhouses, particularly the mitochondria found in T cells (a type of immune cell). When the mitochondria don’t work well, the T cells don’t have the energy required to perform their functions, which leads to a decline in immune system function. This in turn, results in an inability to ward off both acute infections and chronic diseases. As reported by Medical Xpress:2 “… In the…

Dr. Rachel Levine, assistant secretary for health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), tweeted in 2023, “Accredited medical professional groups agree that gender-affirming care is medically necessary, safe, and effective for trans and non-binary youth. It is important that we lead with science, data, and compassion.”1 That science, however, is all of two pages, according to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by nonprofit watchdog Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT). In addition to requesting “records of scientific evidence, studies, and/or data” to support Levine’s claim that gender-affirming care is safe, effective and medically necessary,…

By Dr. Mercola For more than a century pharmaceutical companies have created and enjoyed a lucrative monopoly on health care in America. They’ve done this by forming alliances with doctors and politicians and scientists inside and outside of government. In this manner, slowly but surely, they’ve managed to steal basic human Constitutional liberties from you, especially your right to choose what is best for yourself and your children when it comes to drugs and vaccines. Through it all, Barbara Loe Fisher and the National Vaccine Information Center have been fighting to help you keep your rights to make your own…
