Russell Wilson and wife Ciara have much to celebrate following the Broncos’ win over the Jaguars on Sunday in London.
Hours after Denver defeated Jacksonville at Wembley Stadium, 21-17, Ciara gushed over Wilson in a series of Instagram Stories that featured the Broncos quarterback, 33, and his family.
“We’re so proud of you 3!” the “Goodies” singer, 37, captioned one post. “Go @broncos!!!”
Ciara, who has been married to Wilson since 2016, also posted a photo of the signal-caller with her 8-year-old son Future Zahir, whom she shares with rapper Future, and 2-year-old son Win Harrison, whom she welcomed with Wilson in 2020.
“My boys,” she wrote on Instagram.
Wilson completed 18 of 30 attempts for 252 yards in his return from injury Sunday, along with one touchdown and one interception.
The former Seahawks quarterback, who is in his first season with the Broncos, lauded his teammates after the win.
“Man, this is a great team effort. They played well, we played well. In front of an amazing crowd on the world stage, doesn’t get any bigger or better,” Wilson said postgame. “But what a gift, we just kept battling. It’s been tough for us along the way, we’ve had a lot of great moments, hopefully, that’ll catapult us to where we want to go.”
The Broncos entered the 2022 season with lofty expectations after Denver acquired Wilson in a blockbuster trade with Seattle in March. Entering Sunday’s game, the Broncos had lost four in a row, with much scrutiny being aimed at Wilson and first-year coach Nathaniel Hackett.
Broncos general manager George Paton vouched for Hackett earlier this week, noting the criticism the coach has faced is “unprecedented.”
“He’s been in this for seven games as a head coach. The scrutiny he’s faced is unprecedented. We’ve had four primetime games so he’s had to learn in front of the entire world,” Paton said, according to Denver7’s Troy Renck.
The Broncos, who improved to 3-5, will visit the Titans on Sunday, Nov. 13, after their bye week.
