Everything Everywhere All at Once leads the film nominations for the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards, which were announced on Wednesday.
The film starring Michelle Yeoh earned 14 nominations, including best picture, best comedy, best actress for Yeoh, best supporting actor for Ke Huy Quan and best supporting actress nominations for Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert were nominated in the best director and best original screenplay categories as well.
The Fabelmans followed with eleven nominations, with Steven Spielberg receiving a best director nomination as well as a best original screenplay nod alongside Tony Kushner. Cast members Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Judd Hirsch and Gabriel LaBelle were recognized with nominations as well.
Damien Chazelle’s Babylon and Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin scored 10 and nine nominations respectively, while Elvis and Tar collected even nods each. Avatar: The Way of Water, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, RRR, Top Gun: Maverick and Women Talking round out the best picture category, which comes out to 11 nominees due to an exact tie. The Critics Choice Association also expanded the best director category to include ten nominees.

Our collective opinion about the year’s finest achievements is truly meaningful to the creative community.”
The Critics Choice Association previously announced that Abbott Elementary scored the most TV nominations with six. Better Caul Saul followed with five nods, while Gaslit, Reservation Dogs and The Good Fight tied with four nominations each.
Jeff Bridges will receive the Critics Choice Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s show, which will take place at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Jan. 15. Chelsea Handler is hosting this year.
