Vinicius Oliveira wants to be the first to beat Umar Nurmagomedov in MMA. “Lokdog” and Nurmagomedov both came out victorious at UFC Vegas 87 this past Saturday at the UFC APEX, and the Brazilian took to Instagram to share an alleged direct message exchange with the Russian on the social media platform. Nurmagomedov, who beat Bekzat Almakhan via decision to improve to 17-0 as a professional fighter, allegedly wrote to the Brazilian, “Any time. Even in street,” in response to a message not included on the post. Oliveira, who pocketed $100,000 in bonuses for his insane flying knee knockout of…

Donn Davis is happy for Francis Ngannou’s success, even if it means PFL will have to wait a little longer to have him. At the beginning of 2023, PFL signed Ngannou to a lucrative partnership deal, allowing Ngannou to pursue his interests in boxing with an expected debut in 2024. Ngannou did just that, losing a controversial split decision to lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in October. Now he’s set to face former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua in a 10-round boxing match this Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This obviously pushed back the idea of an early 2024 PFL…

Conor McGregor just wants to fight. The former two-division UFC champion hasn’t competed since 2021 when he suffered a devastating broken leg in a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier but he’s been rumored for a comeback for the past year. He initially signed on to star on The Ultimate Fighter with plans to face fellow coach Michael Chandler sometime in 2023. Because he still had to re-enter the UFC’s anti-doping program following his long absence, McGregor’s return was pushed back yet again but it appeared the stars were aligning for a potential headline spot at the historic UFC 300 card…

Benoit Saint Denis sees a win over Dustin Poirier as just the beginning of what’s to come for his career. The lightweight contenders clash in the five-round co-main event of UFC 299 in Miami this Saturday, and there’s plenty on the line for both fighters. Saint Denis looks for his sixth straight win, while Poirier — a permanent fixture in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings — fights to hold on to his spot in the lightweight top five. Saint Denis proudly represents his home country of France, and on a recent episode of The MMA Hour, he was asked about…

Sean O’Malley is showing off his style before he even steps foot in the octagon. This Saturday at UFC 299 in Miami, O’Malley defends his bantamweight title for the first time against rival Marlon Vera, and he’ll do so rocking a pair of neon pink shorts. It’s the latest bold fashion statement from the popular “Sugar,” who has always made an effort to stand out from the crowd with his constantly changing hair color and facial tattoos. See O’Malley’s reveal of his new gear below. O’Malley isn’t the first fighter to don pink for a UFC fight, nor is he…

Sean O’Malley essentially handpicked his first title defense by plucking Marlon “Chito” Vera to serve as his counterpart in UFC 299’s main event. By all accounts, Vera shouldn’t sniff a title shot right now after losing to Cory Sandhagen and then scoring an uninspiring win over Pedro Munhoz, but a victory over O’Malley from 2020 was all that mattered when booking the matchup. Because O’Malley commands an audience as a fast-rising UFC star, his desire to avenge the lone loss of his career shut out more deserving contenders like Merab Dvalishvili, who sits on a remarkable 10-fight win streak yet…

UFC 299 is headlined by Sean O’Malley defending his bantamweight title for the first time. And maybe the last? It’s not far-fetched to see a world where O’Malley defeats rival Marlon Vera and then immediately follows in Conor McGregor’s footsteps, eschewing his divisional responsibilities to pursue “champ-champ” status or cross over to boxing. Some of the biggest names looking to get a piece of “Sugar” aren’t in his division — or MMA at all, for that matter. With one of the most stacked pay-per-views of the year just days away, MMA Fighting’s Alexander K. Lee, Mike Heck, and Jed Meshew…

Jake Paul added another knockout to his resume in Puerto Rico this past weekend and former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping was far from impressed. “The Problem Child’s” 10th career boxing match (9-1) was just his second outside of the United States. After an eight-match start against primarily MMA fighters, the 27-year-old Paul turned his attention to more boxing-centric opponents. Veteran Andre August (10-2-1) took on Paul this past December. Despite being coined Paul’s toughest challenge yet thanks to his boxing background, August suffered a first-round knockout loss. The match was only his second since 2019 and Paul’s most recent…
