UFC president Dana White announced Saturday night at the event’s post-fight press conference that all nine fighters who secured stoppage wins at UFC Austin cashed $50,000 post-fight bonuses, as did Fight of the Night recipient Ihor Potieria, who lost a wild back-and-forth brawl to Rodolfo Bellato on the preliminary card. A short notice fight didn’t stop Jalin Turner from delivering a devastating knockout to finish Bobby Green in the first round in the UFC Austin co-main event. Miesha Tate got back in the win column in a big way at UFC Austin after she dominated Julia Avila for two-plus rounds before securing a nasty neck crank submission. From the first second until the last, Tate wasted no time bringing the fight down to the ground again and again with Avila having no answers in defense. The UFC is expected to return to Mexico, and will be bringing one of the country’s biggest stars to compete. Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a matchup between Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi will serve as the five-round co-main event for a UFC Fight Night card on Feb. 24. UFC broadcast partner ESPN Deportes first reported the bout was being targeted. Although the UFC has yet to officially announce the location, the card is targeted to take place in Mexico City.
